Raised on a light wooden frame, Mikado is a cupboard designed for the living area, enclosed by two panels closed with a double row of wooden slats, inclined and spaced to reveal the contents with a now you see it, now you don’t effect. It evokes thoughts of the Orient: bamboo or wood stick furniture, unique pieces made by hand, the delight of magnificent cages designed to hold mythical creatures. The irregularity of Nature has been tamed by Front, and transformed by Porro into a serial piece to be used in everyday living with a touch of humor: an unexpected presence whose roots lie in our innermost thoughts.
