Aspiring to the Throne
Eugenie Perret and Juliette Brody opened their all-white two-story store in 1999 to offer high-end design in Philadelphia. It is filled with modern furniture and accessories from the likes of Jasper Morrison and Verner Panton; to the suggestion that it was very Moss-like, Ms. Perret, 43, who was once an interior designer and is now the sole owner of Minima, replied, "I have been designing white loft spaces for a long time."
Minima holds regular design-related exhibitions. The current one, "The Empire Strikes Back," running through June 12, focuses on the Ottoman Empire and its influence on modern design. Items include blown glass by a Turkish company called Hiref, furniture by Piero Lissoni, and laser-cut fabrics by Jeannie Yip, a Philadelphia textiles artist.
